Few words, mostly pictures

I haven't had time to write much here this week since the kids were on Spring Break and I was home with them. We spent a lot of the time catching up on doctor appointments, hiding from the rain and the last few days spent playing Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. Our son has been waiting for that game since Christmas I think.

So, since I don't have much to say I thought I'd add a few photos I've taken the last few days.

This one is the side of an old village hall built in 1907. They don't put these kind of things on the side of buildings anymore.

Here is a random cart hanging out behind a gas station. So lonely.

This is the third of fourth robin of spring. Looks a little chubby.

I didn't pull off the exact shot I wanted here with the railroad tracks, but I was afraid of getting run down by a silent train. Or something.

How has your spring been?

Weekend Assignment #262: New Again

I think Karen picked a very appropriate topic for this time of year.

Weekend Assignment #262: Spring, and especially Easter, is a time of renewal, of new life after a time of darkness and decay (think of the long nights, and all those fallen leaves!). What is new - or renewed in your life this spring?

Well now I feel like I'm just getting repetitious after my last post. Yes, we got a new computer. It's new, it's different, and I'm still transferring data over to it. I didn't realize how many photos, songs, and other junk was on the old computer.

I can't help but be excited about it though. I'm a dork, what do you want? I like gadgets, and a computer is about the biggest gadget I can (kind of) afford. So I've been spending time getting accustomed to the new software. I've used Safari on my iPod, but it is much different when using it on a full-size keyboard. And the mouse, it is very different. I keep feeling for the buttons on top. I know I will get used to it, but, for now, I keep opening new windows when I mean to open a tab.

That is about all that is new this Spring for me. I promise I'll spare you from further talk about the computer. Okay?

Extra Credit: Is spring cleaning part of your family's annual routine?

Ha! That is a good joke! Seriously, Karen has me crying over here!  In other words, no. It should though. It really should.

So, what's new with you?

Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot #29: Winter Meets Spring

Seeing as how Spring has just sprung, Carly wanted us to photograph something that brings the change to life:

EMPS #29: WINTER MEETS SPRING.
It's that time again, when we have converging seasons. Next Friday, winter will transition into spring here in the northern hemisphere, so let's see what the change will be like in your neck of the woods. Please post new photos for this one, as opposed to posting photos from your archives. Now I know that some folks don't live in areas that see very much of a difference between seasons, and so there is an alternate assignment for you, but if you do live in an area that is just bursting to come alive with the colors of spring, please show me the celebration. Show me WINTER MEETS SPRING!

We don't have any snow left around here, and no frost in the morning lately, but I was able to get this shot of one of our tulips pushing through the ground.

I have no idea what type of tulip, if there even are different types, that this one is. They were planted before we moved here. They surprised us on our first Spring in the house 5 years ago.

How about some fresh grass? I will admit that this grass is in a cup in our window and not outside, but my daughter planted it at school, how do I not show it off?

Question of the Week: What do you think about Spirit Photography? Is it possible to photograph a spirit or ghost?

Short answer: No. I'll just leave it at that.

Have a good week!
