Remember how I asked you to guess which was true on April Fool's Day? Well, now you'll get your answer. If you haven't read that post yet, go, do it now. You don't want to ruin the big surprise, do you? I'll wait...
Ready? First I should say that Jenn brought up a good point, I should have stated how many were true. Sorry about that, only one was true. See how much one little word can change the whole meaning of a sentence? Do you want to change your answer now? Do you want to phone a friend, or ask the audience? No? Are you sure?
Number three was true: I was in a movie with Charlie Sheen. Yep. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't starring in the movie or anything, I was an extra in Lucas. I didn't even know who Charlie Sheen was at the time. This was filmed in '84 or '85, so he wasn't a big name then. The star of the movie was Corey Haim. This was before he hooked up with the other Corey. I knew who Corey Haim was, I had seen him in Firstborn a short time before this movie was filmed, but he was the only one I knew.
It was an interesting couple of days. I think I missed two days of school to do it. I'm not sure why my mom let me, or how I talked her into it. I did make about $200 dollars for two days work. That wasn't too bad for a 15 year-old! Well, 25 years ago. Man, I feel a little old now.
Basically my two days consisted of me, and a friend of mine, hanging out in a locker room wearing a towel and a flesh colored Speedo. Except for the moments when we had to leave the locker room because they wanted to do some close-ups of Charlie and Corey. At those times, we had to sit in the gym of Glenbard West while the students at that school tried to peek in the windows to see what we were doing. It was weird, to say the least. Oh yes, you can see me, kind of. You have to watch the original version, not on regular TV, and pay very close attention to the locker room scene where Corey is pinned to a table while the big kids put liquid heat on his crotch. For a split second you can see me in the background cheering the guys on. Sure, I'm blurry, but I know it is me.
I tried to be an extra a couple of other times in high school. Neither worked out, but I still would get calls to the house when I was away at college. It was fun. I think everyone should do it one time to see how boring and monotonous it can be. We yelled out the same phrase many, many times. I want to say we shouted, "Screw Rockford!" I could be wrong. It was 25 years ago. My memory is not so good any more.
Well, I hope that was fun. Have a good weekend.

Who cares?
I'm really tired of John Mayer. Am I the only one? Well, besides Jennifer Aniston that is?
Sorry, I'm tired an cranky. I just had to let it out.

Question of the day; April 2, 2009
Does the Queen Elizabeth II need an iPod. Sure, said iPod has footage from her last visit to the US. But, wouldn't she have access to that footage? I mean, she is the Queen, I'm sure it's on a DVD or VHS tape (I picture her still using a VCR. With the clock blinking12:00). Of course, she doesn't have a 12 year-old son to transfer that to an iPod, so maybe it's not such a bad gift. Does she know how to use an iPod?
Okay, maybe I had a few questions. But, they needed to be asked.

Weekend Assignment #260: It's a Wonderful Job
This week the the Weekend Assignment from Karen's blog comes from Florinda.
Weekend Assignment #260: Maybe it wasn't the "best" job by objective standards, but of all the jobs you've ever had, which was your favorite, and why did you like it so much?
This may be a little harder than I thought when I first read this. I've had plenty of jobs I've liked, and a few that I definitely did not, but a favorite is hard to choose. At least it is for me.
I've worked at a few restaurants over the years, and I think I've had the most fun at those. I think a lot of that had to due with the lack of responsibility I had when working at them. I wasn't in charge of anything, and the biggest thing I could screw up was accidentally ordering someone's stake rare instead of medium. On top of that, anytime I was working in a restaurant I was in school, so I was younger, had less stress due to less bills, or kids health and welfare to worry about. Each restaurant job had it's own unique high points. Let me tell you about them.
My first restaurant job, or any job, was at a Bill Knapp's. You may not have heard of them; they weren't nationwide, or anything. Let me tell you though, they had the best au gratin potatoes. Back in high school you either worked at Bill Knapp's or Jewel. Well, not really, but it seemed that way.
I started out as a busboy and worked my way 'up' to waiter. It wasn't bad money for a 16 year-old kid. I always had plenty of change and singles for the candy and pop machine at school. The best part of the job was when the managers left. For some silly reason they thought it was okay to leave a teenager in charge of the restaurant and close it up. Sure, nothing will go wrong with that idea at all! Let me tell you, my friends and I ate like kings and queens after 9:30pm. I wonder why that place went out of business? It was fun for other reasons, too. Since it was everyone from high school, we knew everyone, we were all about the same age, and we got along. A lot of jokes and pranks constantly, for the most part.
When I went away to college, and Bill Knapp's closed, I worked for a shot time at a Wag's restaurant. These were Denny's style restaurants owned by the Walgreen's company. I didn't work there all that long, so not as many good stories, but it had it's moments. The most interesting times were when the people would come in, still in costume, after watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Those were interesting people. Let me tell you. There were plenty of parties to go to after work as well.
My most recent experience in the restaurant business was working at an Applebee's. I was a waiter and bartender there when I went back to school. I probably had almost as much fun there as I did at Bill Knapp's. I think one of the big reasons is that I came into that job after I left my most hated job, and I was so happy to be out of there. But, the people were a lot of fun, too. We would go out after work sometimes. Once in a while the manager would let us had a beer after work, we had to pay for them though. Jenn would come in a lot after work and sit at the bar and have dinner when I was working on the weekends. The manager's would buy her dinner a lot of times, which helped us a lot since we didn't have a whole lot of money then. One year I dressed up as Data from Star Trek on Halloween. Yes, I am a dork.
So, I guess those were my favorite job(s).
Extra Credit: What was the shortest time you ever held a job? What happened?
I think it was the Wag's Job. I worked there over a Christmas break and that was it. I think it might have closed after I went back to school. But, I could be wrong on that. Maybe I did go back for the summer too, but I don't think so.

Something a little different for April Fool's day
I decided to do April Fool's day a little different than most. At least I like to think it is different. I'm going to list several things below, you tell me which is TRUE. Got it.
I hope I didn't make it too easy. And I hope some people actually guess!
I'll be sleeping all day, you kids be good. Don't tease each other too much. And remember, don't believe anything you read on the Internet today. Or, any day, really.
- I was in the Midwest regional finals for the US Air Guitar Championship a couple of years ago.
- I tried to get in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records for longest continuous swinging on a swing set.
- I was in a movie with Charlie Sheen.
- I hit a deer on the way home from work once. I kept it and sold the meat for money for school.
- I met the members of Metallica a few years ago and told them to start playing better music.
- I was in a fight with the members of Metallica.
- I met John Cusack and sold him a stereo when I was working at Circuit City.
- I got Monetzuma's Revenge while on vacation in Mexico.
I hope I didn't make it too easy. And I hope some people actually guess!

now this is what I call e-mail!
Google has done it again! Check out this new feature from Google called, Gmail Autopilot. Now I don't have to actually type anything out to anybody; it does it for me. Genius, I tell you.
Now, you should know it is probably only available today, April 1st. So act now!
(Shhhh. Don't tell anyone it's a joke.)

It's just a typical Friday night burger for me.
I don't know what all the fuss is about this hamburger? I eat one a week!
I found it extra humorous when one of the ads on the bottom was for colon cleansing. Talk about nailing the target audience!
Also, I find it funny to have an ad for a weight loss challenge on the left side. Again; nailed it!
