I survived!

I finished the race without passing out. And under an hour. Time to eat!

No, no, no! You did not "survive." You triumphed! over adversity! It was a lousy day, cold, drizzly, blech. I guarantee you that 5,000 people who paid good money for their race entry fee looked out their windows when their alarms went off, said "No thanks!" and went back to bed, but not you.

Unfocused: Thanks. I didn't think I was prepared enough for the race. That was my main concern. This was the longest race I've been in. I usakly do 5K's.

That's the problem with the Shuffle - after a winter like this, it's very hard to be ready for it. I usually think about it as getting pushed into the deep end of the pool, while wearing a parka and snow pants. I've had years where the Shuffle is the first time I've run outside in months, and those years I hurt a lot. Good luck with your training & racing the rest of the season.
