Quick question
As I was driving home from dropping the kids off at school I noticed all the garbage cans lining the street. Obviously none were going to be picked up today because of Memorial day on Monday, so this week garbage will be picked up on Friday. That got me thinking, when there is a holiday where no garbage is picked up, how do they catch up the following week? Do they work a double shift? An extra day on the weekend? I'd rather work my regular shift on a holiday and not have to work a double later. I work holidays all the time, though. Other people may hove other opinions.

I think they do work a double shift. However, trash guys make good money so, I'm sure most must not mind. What I always wonder is why they street sweep on some holidays and not on others. Where I live they had street sweeping on President's Day, but not on Memorial Day. How do they decide which holiday is more important than the other for street sweeping when they skip trash pickup for all the holidays? Odd.
dc: yeah, I can never figure out which holidays they follow. We are always running outside with garbage when we hear the trucks coming down the street. Sometimes we don't make it.
Around here, sometimes I see them catching up from a Monday holiday on Saturday - but I'm not really sure exactly how it works. I think most of the garbage collection here is done by private companies and not by the city itself.
Here's a random question back at you - is this really necessary?
Florinda: The is necessary only if they make it terrible. Get Carmen Electra, Pam Anderson, Asthon Kutcher (sorry, I don't think he's a good actor),Steven Segal, etc. and only let them see the script once, then they have to do it from memory. That could be fun. :)
